Sony Unveils PlayStation Now-Enabled Bravia TVs

Sony has pulled back the curtain on its latest line of Bravia televisions, and (surprise!) they'll support the company's upcoming game-streaming service, PlayStation Now.

These new Bravia 4K Ultra HD TV sets will allow gamers to play PlayStation 3 games without a console hooked up to the television. Instead, using the power of Sony's Gaikai streaming service, PS3 games will be streamed directly to the television set. A DualShock 3 is required for play, of course.

As you may have suspected, these sets aren't cheap, with prices starting at $2,100 and going as high as $25,000. It'll only be a matter of time before prices come down, especially if content providers ever want 4K to be the new standard.

If anything, this is a clear sign of Sony's desire and willingness to expand beyond the traditional console model. Does this mean we'll never see a PlayStation 5? Find out what Sony's Shuehi Yoshida thinks.
