New Ace Attorney Announced for 3DS [Update: Trailer]

[Update] Capcom has released the first official trailer for the next entry in the Ace Attorney series. Give it a look below.

[Original] Nintendo's handheld is getting a new entry in the Ace Attorney series, according to the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.

The leaked article, which was posted on Twitter, specifies the game's time period, which is set during the Meiji era in Japan (mid 1800s to early 1900s). As such, the game won't center around Phoenix Wright, but instead his ancestor, Naruhodou Ryuunosuke.

Get a first look at the new protagonist in the magazine scan below.

Series creator Shu Takumi is confirmed to be heading up development on this new title as director. Hopefully we'll hear more about this 3DS exclusive, including plans for localization, in the near future.
