Call of Duty 2014’s First Screenshot Is Unbelievably Photo-Realistic

Activision's next entry in the Call of Duty franchise launches later this year, and it looks like the development team over at Sledgehammer Games has been working hard on the game's visuals.

At its "Quest for Quality: Maximizing the Relationship Between Creative and Production" panel at GDC, the studio unveiled an image of (what it claims is) an in-game character model for the upcoming title. Feast your eyes on the pic below, courtesy of IGN.

Activision has stated that this new entry in the series is being developed specifically with a "next-gen first" mindset, so there's reason to have high expectations on the visual front. Still, that face looks incredibly lifelike. I wonder if the game will actually look this good when we see it running on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Stay tuned for more on Sledgehammer's upcoming shooter in the coming months, as we're bound to hear more about it at E3.
