Sniper Elite 3 Game Overview Shows off X-Ray Killcam on a Truck

Gil went hands-on with Sniper Elite 3 during PAX East and from his preview it sounded like developer Rebellion addressed many of the criticisms levied at the previous iterations of Sniper Elite.

Now you can see most of the game's mechanics in action by watching the gameplay overview from 505 Games above. The video goes into detail on stealth abilities, trap tools, and long-range sniping that will give you total destructive control over the Nazi forces in Africa.

I love the way the game tracks a round from rifle to retina or as it blows up a truck full of troops. The animations and detail in each gruesome kill should encourage players to take each objective quietly with precision. While I still haven't gotten hands-on with Sniper Elite 3, I hope the mechanics reinforce the role of a sniper and bring players into the role like never before.

There have been plenty attempts at putting players in the role of a true sniper, but few manage to attain the kind of tension and variability needed in the field. Hopefully, Sniper Elite 3 gets it right when it launches on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 27th.
