New Destiny Video Talks Abilities, Guns, Controls, and Multiplayer

This new video from PlayStation provides a great look at Destiny, the upcoming first-person shooter from Activision and Bungie with details players will care about when they finally pick up the controller.

The video shows off weapons and effects, vertical movement and special abilities, and how multiplayer functions in the game. We've already reported that you need to unlock competitive multiplayer by playing through the game normally, but Destiny also features opportunities for online parties to work together.

"We're bringing together gamers as guardians of the last safe city who will meet each other in chance encounters. They'll be on their own adventures and where their paths come together in a crossroads there'll be these fascinating events where they'll fall under attack by even larger groups," explains David Dague, community manager at Bungie.

That's easily the most exciting thing about Destiny at this moment, but in light of the game's production cost it needs to work on day 1 or the hopeful franchise could suffer a rocky launch that gets covered up by other blockbuster fall games.
