Nintendo announced during its annual shareholders meeting in Japan that in just under a month, Mario Kart 8's sell-through numbers have reached approximately two million worldwide.
This is great news for the company, as Wii U sales have struggled ever since its rocky launch a couple of years ago. It looks like consumers have finally found a compelling enough reason to shell out the $299 asking price for Nintendo's tablet-centric console, even if Mario Kart 8 doesn't make particularly great use of the GamePad.
Earlier this week, news broke that Nintendo's new kart racer managed to top the last week's sales charts, speeding past Ubisoft's Watch Dogs—that is, if you break up each individual version of Ubi's open-world action game.
