Kinect Beats PlayStation Move

Today is the last day of the Develop Conference in Brighton, United Kingdom, where developers get together to discuss innovation in the industry, share ideas and techniques, and hand out a number of peer awards. One such award for Technical Innovation has been awarded to Microsoft Cambridge Research for their work on Kinect.

Kinect beat out a number of other nominees including Unreal Engine 3 Mobile, Havok Mobile, Razor for PS Vita, and Sony's PlayStation Move motion controller.

Kinect definitely deserves it over the PlayStation Move. It's as if Sony has almost entirely given up on their motion controller. Nothing interesting or worthy of its technical capabilities have been released or announced for the near future. If they've given up, then the gaming public surely will.
