Assassin’s Creed Unity Will Have Microtransactions

Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Unity will have microtransactions. According to reports, players who pay a little extra will be able to unlock content that will allow them to progress through the game faster.

In an interview with OXM at gamescom, senior producer Vincent Pontibrand explained Ubi's approach to microtransactions. "If we think it fits the gameplay, or the brand itself, the core values, we're willing to take those risks. If not, then not. We're not going to make any compromises."

Does the addition of microtransactions in AC Unity bother you? I must admit, I do find this trend rather unsettling.

Assassin's Creed Unity launches on October 28th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
