Mario Kart 8 to Receive New Kart Customizations, New Courses, Link, and More

Nintendo's website for the eShop apparently leaked details about the company's plans to extend Mario Kart 8 with downloadable content including new characters, new tracks, new vehicles, and more.

NeoGAF user Penguin spotted the store page and shared the image you see above. Here are the details on the two packs bringing new content to Mario Kart 8:

Pack 1 will offer players Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, and The Legend of Zelda's Link after purchasing this pack. It'll also come with four new vehicles and eight new race tracks.

Pack 2 includes Animal Crossing's Villager and Isabelle, in addition to Dry Bowser. This pack will also add four new vehicles and eight new courses to Mario Kart 8's current selection.

Penguin's post also says that players who buy both packs (either in a bundle or separately) will get various Yoshi and Shy Guy colors to use while racing on and offline. That should help differentiate all of the Yoshis you see in online races.

We'll bring more on these DLC packs when Nintendo offer official word and a release date. Until then, check out our review of Mario Kart 8 here.
