New Entry in the Ys Franchise Heading to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita

During Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference developer and publisher of the Ys franchise, Nihon Falcom, announced that a new entry in the franchise is being developed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

Nihon Falcom did not offer many details on the game, though the Ys series has been a staple in role-playing games for decades. The most recent release, Ys: Memories of Celceta, debuted on PlayStation Vita earlier this year.

I'm curious to know how gameplay will differ (if at all) between the console and handheld versions. We'll bring you more on the game as it near launch, though details on an American release will probably arrive after a release date for Japanese gamers.
