Spec Ops: The Line still rests somewhere in my chest as one of the most heavy-handed and well-accomplished military games of all time given the way it twists a few field knives in your side with its campaign of fear and misunderstanding, though we hope that's not what led to Walt Williams' departure from 2K Games.
Williams scribed the narrative behind Spec Ops: The Line and also lent his talents to the backgrounds for upcoming 2K games like Evolve and Civilization: Beyond Earth under the title of Senior Writer/Designer. Williams has said that he'll remain within the gaming industry, though we'll stay curious as to what he does next.
