Stardew Valley Is Getting Its Own Cookbook

One thing that Stardew Valley lets you do – besides farming, of course – is cook food, and soon you’ll be able to make some of the game’s recipes in real life. It turns out the ConcernedApe, the developer behind the hit simulation title, is releasing a cookbook next year.

In a recent report from PC Gamer, Amazon has a pre-order page for the upcoming official Stardew Valley cookbook. The site shows that it’s due to be released on April 16 and will come in hardback and Kindle editions.

The description says the cookbook “celebrates seasonal ingredients through unique recipes,” which have been directly inspired by the game.

There’ll be 50 recipes you’ll be able to cook, complete with “vibrant photography and original illustrations.” It’s being created by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, as well as Ryan Novak, who’s written a number of books, including the Stardew Valley Guidebook and Hollow Knight‘s Wanderer’s Journal.

Stardew Valley often comes up in conversations about the best indie games of all time. Releasing in 2016, and created by a single person, it offered a retro-looking role-playing experience that favors village life and growing crops over gun violence and gritty storytelling.

With a Steam review score of “overwhelmingly positive,” it’s still pulling in new fans after more than seven years.

We also know that Stardew Valley is due to get another update at some point. The developer says we can look forward to some new items, a new festival, extra dialog, as well as some “secrets” and other things.
