Persona 5 Arriving on PlayStation 4, Coming 2015

This new Persona 5 teaser trailer revealed this weekend at the PlayStation Experience instantly transported me to the urban Persona 3 universe. As the trailer reveals, Persona 5 will be available for both PS4 and PS3, and will arrive some time in 2015 for both Japan and US territories.

The short-haired, silent male protagonist definitely fits the Persona aesthetic, and the subway ride made me want to shoot myself in the head (with an evoker).

The trailer ends with a sequence in Shibuya's famous Scramble Crossing, which you'll recognize if you've played The World Ends With You. It seems that the protagonist gets caught in a time-freeze of sorts not unlike The Midnight Hour in Persona 3 except that no one is trapped in coffins anywhere.

From what we know so far of Persona 5, it uses a new engine, will feature the color red (where P3 was blue and P4 was yellow), and has a theme about what freedom means when bound by society's numerous rules. Yep, sounds like Persona to me.
