Fortnite has launched its latest collaboration, this time with the polarizing long-running comedy, South Park. In addition to new skins, the crossover also introduces exciting new items, locations, and a free event pass.
Fortnite’s South Park skins launch date revealed
Fortnite has announced its new collaboration with South Park, “Fortnite’s South Park: Born in Chaos.” The crossover event will be released on Friday, January 9, and will run till Thursday, February 5. According to the game’s official website, players will be able to unlock South Park items from the free Born in Chaos Pass.
Also available as part of the collaboration are Cartman, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, and Butters’ mech suit outfits in the shop. Fortnite also welcomed gamers to “explore the Cartmanland POI, and jump into the new Quints 5-person playlist on the Golden Coast.”
Quints is a five-player variety in the Battle Royale mode that gamers can check out in both Build and Zero Build. This marks the first time that Epic Games has added a new squad size to Battle Royale since the addition of Trios five years ago.
The collaboration has also introduced Kenny’s Respawn Token, which players can use to automatically reboot if they die. Another new item in the gameplay is the Cheesy Poofs, which players can use to heal themselves or “damage enemies.” Finally, the Stick of Truth will allow players to “control the storm.” However, they can only use it once.
As part of the crossover, Fortnite has also launched a new event mini-pass, called “Born in Chaos Pass.” It does not require V-Bucks and is completely free for everyone to access. Players can unlock 13 South Park-themed items by completing various South Park Quests. These include the Backpack of CRED Back Bling, Terrance and Phillip Pickaxe, and Cheesy Poofs Rocketship Emote.
Once gamers have completed all the South Part Quests, they will receive the final reward on the pass, the Imaginationland Airship glider. It is inspired by the three-episode story arc of the same name in the show’s tenth season.
