Sakurai: Bandai Namco the Only Developer Suitable for Smash Bros.

According to Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai, there was only one development studio fit to make the latest entry in Nintendo's fighting franchise for Wii U and 3DS.

In an interview with Nintendo Dream (via NeoGAF) Bandai Namco was truly the only suitable team to take on the project. "We thought it would be better to have one single company work for us, so we choose to work with Bandai Namco Games who produce Tekken and other games," he explained.

"When thinking about a Japanese company that can make a large-scale fighting-game, there was only this one company. It would be quite difficult for other companies I think."

Do you think there's another studio out there that could have done a better job? If so, sound off with your development team of choice in the comments below.
