Evolution of Doom: How Far Graphics Have Come

I still remember playing Doom back in 1993. It was one of the first games I had ever played. Considering I was eight years old at the time, it amazes me that my parents let me play such a violent game.

Nonetheless, Doom was one of my first experiences with how powerful video games can be. So, watching Doom 4's gameplay debut today I couldn't help but think about how far video games have come in the past 22 years. It's truly remarkable how beautiful games can be, and they're only going to get better.

I put together a short video that goes through short clips of gameplay from each of the four major Doom titles. If it does for you what it did for me, it'll help you come to appreciate the progress that video games have made.
