Best of 2015 Awards: Best PlayStation Exclusive

Winner: Bloodborne

While Until Dawn showed us what Quantic Dream has been attempting to do with cinematic storytelling and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture was a surprising indie title that brilliantly showed the power of environmental storytelling, Bloodborne delivered death. FromSoftware has become the stalwart guardians for precision-based action that penalizes players for sloppiness and charging forward without any strategy or any attention to environmental traps.

Bloodborne, though more aggressively minded that its Souls brethren, does much the same. Conquering it, just like the developer’s Souls titles, is an incredible feat all on its own. The savagely eerie Victorian setting with looming cathedrals, gnarled trees, and growling crows is hauntingly and grotesquely exquisite. All said, Bloodborne is one of the best reasons to own a Playstation 4 and we can only hope that FromSoftware has plans for a sequel.

Nominees: Yakuza 5, Until Dawn, Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, Dragon Quest Heroes, Bloodborne, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
