Fallout 76 Refund

Bethesda Reportedly Backpedals On Promised Fallout 76 Refund

Bethesda reportedly promised a Fallout 76 refund to a player after he suffered a number of issues with the PC version of the game. Unfortunately, it appears that the studio has gone back on its word.

Fallout 76 has only been out for a short while and the launch has been less than ideal to say the least. Players have reported a number of issues with the game so far. A coordinated strike of three simultaneous nukes by a team of dedicated players resulted in a server crash. Another player has found themselves unfortunately unkillable – a boon to some, but also a real buzzkill to honest players looking for a challenge.

These (and other) issues might lead someone to request a Fallout 76 refund. A Redditor by the name of /u/ZPKane did just that. He cited poor performance with the game and an inability to connect with his friends. He reportedly received a response from a support agent who stated that they would begin processing a refund as soon as they were able.

Unfortunately for /u/ZPKane, a later e-mail he says he received from Bethesda reversed course on the possibility of a Fallout 76 refund. Here’s what he says it contained:

“Greetings, Thank you for contacting the Bethesda Support Team. Customers who have downloaded the game are not eligible for a refund. We apologize for the inconvenience. If there is anything else we can assist you with please reply to this email for further assistance. Thank you for your patience. Kind Regards, Bethesda Support”

Understandably, /u/ZPKane is less than happy that he apparently won’t be getting a Fallout 76 refund.

The Redditor with the PC problems says that he’s still waiting on a response from a Bethesda support agent. In the meantime, a friend has gifted him a copy of the game for the PS4. While he’s had some problems with the PC version, the PS4 version of the game has been running with relatively few issues for him. Hopefully he gets that Fallout 76 refund.
