Yet Another Peripheral for Kid Icarus: Uprising

Kid Icarus fans have been clamoring for a new game ever since the first game released way back in 1986. So when Nintendo announced at E3 2010 that yes, a new Kid Icarus game is incoming, the screams in the auditorium were deafening. Seriously, I thought I was going to go deaf from the two fanboys sitting next to me screaming like little kids.

Of course then the game gets no release date, there's some hemming and hawing about a release date, and then news bubbles of a joypad peripheral (Circle Pad Pro) that may be used with Kid Icarus: Uprising and maybe not. Well, it has been confirmed that Uprising can use the $20 Circle Pad Pro, but it won't be in the way everyone wants. It has also been confirmed that players can make us of yet another peripheral created with Uprising in mind: a stand.

Be warned that this stand has not been announced for the states yet, if ever. There is also no official word yet if this stand is part of a bundle or sold separately.

As for news of how the Circle Pad Pro can be incorporated, it won't be for dual-analog use. Instead, the extra pad has left-handed players in mind, as many may prefer to wield the stylus with their left hands instead of their right. It's a nice gesture to be sure, but I believe most players would rather have an option for dual-analog use to forego using the stylus at all.

If the stand comes to the US, would you be interested in it? I could see myself using it for Ocarina of Time just to give my hands a rest and to keep the handheld locked into the optimal 3D spot.
