Tell GR: How Did You Celebrate Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving has been and gone, with families across America sitting down to eat turkey while desperately trying to avoid talking about politics.

We already discussed the gaming trends we’re thankful for this year, before GR’s staff spent some valuable time with their respective families while I worked because I’m British and therefore didn’t get the day off. But I’m not bitter about that. Nope, not at all.

As I’m not very knowledgeable about Thanksgiving thanks to living in a completely different country, I decided to do some quick fact-checking about this very American holiday in order to educate myself. Did you know that approximately 51,650,000 turkeys are eaten during the holiday? That’s basically turkey genocide. Now, I’m not a vegetarian and I’m partial to a bit of poultry every now and again, but 51.6 million of them?! Bloody hell. Turkey’s not even particularly tasty meat; it’s dry and I don’t trust any food where you have to shove your hand up its arse in order to remove stuff to make it edible.

But while learning about Thanksgiving has been fun and only slightly harrowing, I want to know what you did for the holiday. Did you eat one of those 51 million turkeys with your family and friends? Or did you stay in the comfort of your own home and play video games? Let us know in the comments section below.
