Dragon Ball FighterZ is the Highest-Rated Dragon Ball Game Ever

Dragon Ball FighterZ has broken a record for the franchise, with it being the highest-rated Dragon Ball game ever released, according to Metacritic.

The game has reached a Metascore of 87, not only making it the most critically acclaimed Dragon Ball game to date according to the review aggregation site, but also making it the first Dragon Ball game to break past the 80 mark.

FighterZ currently has a Metascore of 87, a notable improvement over Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, which only achieved a rating of 72 on the PS4. Prior to that game, the closest a Dragon Ball game had come to an 80 rating was Budokai 3, which achieved a Metascore of 78.

Dragon Ball FighterZ has attracted plenty of praise prior to its release, with most outlets awarding it a positive score. With the online servers having not yet gone live, we posted our review-in-progress of the game yesterday, noting that it’s “an accomplished fighting game with a clear appreciation for its source material, providing frenetic action between larger-than-life characters ripped straight from the anime/manga series.”

You can check back later this week for GameRevolution’s final verdict on Dragon Ball FighterZ.
