Halo VR Project Looking for a Creative Director

While some may not ever want to see another Halo game after Halo 6, 343 Industries has other ideas as it has been listed on LinkedIn that the company were previously looking for a creative director for a Halo VR Project. It hasn’t been confirmed whether this means that there will be a new sci-fi experience altogether for Halo fans or whether it will be a previous game remade with the use of VR in a similar fashion like L.A Noire, but the job description does give out hints.

The job description’s first paragraph says this: “343 Industries is looking for a Creative Director to join us in delivering an all-new VR experience in the Halo universe.” It continues,” Halo is known for its epic sci-fi worlds, its transmedia storytelling, and its heroic gameplay – VR brings the potential for a new level of immersion in our universe.”

The description does seem to emphasize an all-new experience for the Halo series, so perhaps a brand new Halo game for the VR isn’t as far-fetched as it may seem. Yet right now all that is certain is that the Halo VR project will take part in the same universe its fans have come to love.

While it could be argued that 343 Industries focusing on VR seems like a bad move, considering the reach of the Halo series it may be the thing that is needed to bring more people towards trying out VR just as games like Skyrim did. What’s more, with a new creative director the chances of the Halo series being renewed into something that takes both the old and the new is very high too, perhaps even taking on the life of a new protagonist. A refreshing start may just be what the series needs, though only time (and dedicated fans) will be able to fully tell.
