Sony’s Patent For DualShock/Move Hybrid Controller Approved

Ever wished you could rip your PlayStation 3 controller apart and have two Move wands? Yeah, me neither, but it looks like Sony's patent application for the “Hybrid Separable Motion Controller” that was filed last year has just been approved.

The patent, which was first spotted by thesixthaxis, details the controller's magnetic connection, allowing users to pull the device apart and connect it back together with ease. As one would expect, each half has accelerometer, speaker and vibration support.

What do you think of this crazy controller? Do you think Sony's motion controller is popular enough to merit the production of such a device? Let us know in the comments below.
