Pachter: Nintendo “Made A Mistake… They Probably Can’t Recover From”

Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter can't seem to contain his disdain for Nintendo. According to the infamous analyst, the Big N made a huge mistake with the Wii U, and it will be incredibly difficult for the company to get out of the hole it has dug for itself.

“I think [Nintendo] misfired on the Wii U. It’s just not that different from the other two [existing] consoles, and the gameplay isn’t as unique as the Wii. They made a mistake, it’s something they probably can’t recover from," Pachter told GamesBeat. "I think they have made a costly mistake. And their handheld business can’t save them in the face of cannibalization from smartphones and tablets.”

Sales for the console this past month were incredibly low, and with no exciting software for at least another couple of months, the hardware is bound to continue to struggle. Is Nintendo in as bad a situation as Mr. Pachter is claiming? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
