anthem community review

Community Reviews | Is Anthem the next big thing or a Destiny wannabe?

Community Review is your chance to let your thoughts be heard. When a new game releases, GameRevolution lets the GR community take the soapbox to share their opinions, too. Post your review in the comments section below, and we’ll feature our favorite!

Anthem is one of the most divisive games of the year so far. BioWare’s loot shooter has received a tepid critical response, and while the jury’s still out on whether it has reached publisher EA’s sales expectations, things aren’t looking great from this vantage point.

GameRevolution gave it a 2.5 out of 5 in our review, with Mack Ashworth calling it a shooter that “misses more than it hits, leading to a shaky foundation that will be tricky to stabilize.” In the review, Mack criticized the lack of variety on offer, with Anthem giving the player a series of the same missions and objectives to complete. Though we posted our review after the day one patch had gone live, meaning that a number of the bugs present in the early access Origin release had been resolved, it still didn’t match the level of quality we’ve come to expect from BioWare.

But what are your thoughts? Does Anthem deserve better than its underwhelming review scores? Or is it the Destiny wannabe that many believed it would be? Leave your review below — feel free to make it as lengthy/short as you’d like — and we’ll feature our favorite review for everyone to see.
