Xbox One To Reportedly Be Region-Locked

Just like the Xbox 360 and the original Xbox, the Xbox One will be region-locked, so don't expect to be able to play import games with much ease.

A spokesperson from Microsoft confirmed the news to Digital Trends, saying, “Similar to the movie and music industry, games must meet country-specific regulatory guidelines before they are cleared for sale. We will continue to work with our partners to follow these guidelines with Xbox One.”

I don't know about you, but I get the strong sense that this console was designed specifically for the North American market anyway. Is a region-locked console a major deal-breaker for you? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
