Smash Ultimate Direct is coming in January 2020 and it’s going to be revealing something pretty cool for fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

A tweet from the Nintendo Versus Twitter account announced the upcoming Smash Ultimate Direct for January 16, 2020, at 9:00 AM Eastern. In it, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director Masahiro Sakurai will reveal an upcoming DLC fighter while also giving it a serious, in-depth look throughout the course of the video.

It should be noted these videos rarely focus on just the one thing. The most recent such video introduced Terry to the game while also revealing new Amiibos and other new features that were coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It would be safe to assume that we might get one or two extra things beyond just a single new DLC character being revealed.

Aside from this upcoming video, a “Spirit Event” called “Chain the Future to Spirits!” will be running for five days starting on January 17, 2020, according to another tweet. It looks like January is going to be a good month for Smash!
