Sonic Confirmed For Super Smash Bros. Wii U, 3DS

Sega's iconic blue mascot, Sonic, will be included among the cast of playable fighters in Nintendo's upcoming brawler, Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced this news during today's Nintendo Direct.

This should hardly come as a surprise, considering the fact that Sonic was included in the previous entry of the series. Not only that, but with a batch of exclusive games starring the speedy hedgehog coming exclusively to Nintendo platforms, it just makes sense.

Are you excited to see Sonic make a return to Smash Bros.? Let us know in the comments below.
