Some shocking events in “The Heist” in Cyberpunk 2077 will have fans wondering if there’s a possibility to save Jackie Welles. V’s best friend makes the ultimate sacrifice trying to make it to the big times and bites the big one. Given the plethora of choices throughout the game, players will likely wonder if there’s a possibility that Jackie could live in Cyberpunk 2077.

Can Jackie live in Cyberpunk 2077?
When the heist of the Relic chip goes south, Jackie and V are forced to try and escape from Konpeki Plaza the hard way. They make it to a ledge outside of Yorinobu Arasaka’s penthouse and try to reach an exterior ladder to make their way down the building. Before they can get to safety, a drone begins firing on them, and the two are forced to jump off the side of the building.
Unfortunately, Jackie is severely injured during fall and begins bleeding profusely. He’s able to keep it together long enough to help V fight to the exit, but he dies shortly after they reach the Delamain cab.
The player’s choices do not affect whether Jackie will die during “The Heist” or not. He carries the Relic chip in his head when its case is injured, and him giving it to V just before his death is a catalyst for the events that lead to the central conundrum of the story.
However, your choices may have some effect on Jackie’s ultimate fate in Cyberpunk 2077. Keep in mind, you see Jackie die (or appear to die), but do you ever see his body after V goes to meet Dex? Remember, in 2077, the barrier between life and death is much thinner than it is in 2020. In fact, the conundrum with Johnny Silverhand shows that even those who die in body can return in spirit.
