Is Riders Republic free-to-play? PC, Xbox, PS, & Ubisoft Plus

Riders Republic is making wave among sports game fans because it’s such a massive experience. Especially on PC, few games present this sort of action on such a wide scale. Of course, some players see the huge scale and imagine it’s some sort of a free-to-play game. But is that the case? Is Riders Republic free?

Is Riders Republic free-to-play?

Riders Republic is not a free-to-play game. It was developed and launched as a paid experience. However, it is currently available to active Ubisoft Plus subscribers free of charge. Otherwise, no matter what platform you use, you’ll have to buy it if you want to play it.

Simply put, this is a paid experience. However, since it was developed by Ubisoft, it was pretty much always going to land on Ubisoft Plus. That said, there was some confusion over whether it would appear on Xbox Game Pass. Sadly, it has not — at least not yet, anyway.

That means, just like any normal game before the meteoric rise of F2P software, you’ll have to pay to play. Thankfully, there’s no real limitation on which platform you’ll need to buy it for. The game is available for practically everything, from PlayStation and Xbox to PC, Stadia, even Amazon Luna. Even better, Riders Republic has robust crossplay support that allows all players to connect with one another.

Ubisoft’s putting some grunt behind it, too. The developers have already revealed the game’s upcoming DLC expansions, with plans out to three seasons so far. Free multiplayer modes, weekly challenges, and those ever-popular live events will be in rotation for a long time to come.

Don’t think you can hop in without paying, though. Riders Republic is not a free game. The only way to get it for free is to pick it up through Ubisoft Plus. That may change in the future, but for now, you’ll need to spend real-world money to jump in on the action.
