Sea of Thieves Season 7

Sea of Thieves Season 7 Adds Huge Customization Update, Cash-In Points, and More

Microsoft Studios has revealed new details for Sea of Thieves Season 7 through a musical trailer at the Xbox Bethesda Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2022. First off, Season 7 will be starting on July 21. It will come with ship loadouts, cabin customization, and the ability for captains to, at long last, name their ships.

What to expect from Sea of Thieves Season 7

Through the shanty trailer posted above, the upcoming season will more fully allow you to be your very own Captain. It shows off cabin customization, giving you the ability to change the color of the curtains, the type of furniture, the decorations adorning the wall, and the overall lighting. You will finally be able to give your ship a name as well, so long as it doesn’t have any profanity. Case in point, the trailer shows that you can name it “BootyMcBootFace” if you wish.

The video also reveals the ability to use “new cash-in points” to sell loot with ease. It’s uncertain how this will work exactly, but the developers will hopefully reveal more details on how this exchange will work.

It’s great seeing Sea of Thieves continue to get free updates. In Season 4, players were able to explore the The Sunken Kingdom, giving them a chance to visit six all-new Siren Shrines. Last year’s patch for Halloween gave players the chance to experience the Fury of the Damned event, in which they could overcome undead forces threatening the seas.

Sea of Thieves is currently available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, and will be available via Xbox Game Pass.

In other news, the Halo Infinite crossover for Microsoft Flight Simulator will add the Pelican in an update available to download today, and Blizzard has announced the Overwatch 2 free-to-play and early access release date, including details of the new tank hero Junker Queen.
