    rnThe studio behind last year's Need for Speed: Rivals was hit by a round of layoffs, according to a report from Polygon. The outlet goes on to say that the remaining full-time employees were offered the opportunity to work at Visceral on its rumored police-themed Battlefield title. As such, the future of the Need for Speed franchise is currently up in the air.

    Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Won’t Have Multiplayer Mode

    rnMonolith has confirmed that its upcoming action game set in the fantastical world of The Lord of the Rings will be a single-player only experience. The developer also confirmed that there will be no Wii U version of its aforementioned game, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.
