Microsoft: Xbox One Will Get More 1080p Games Down the Line

Xbox One owners can expect to see more games in 1080p for the system as we move deeper into this console generation, according to Xbox development director Boyd Multerer.

When asked by OXM whether or not we'll see more games support the aforementioned resolution, Multerer replied, "I fully expect that to happen. The [graphics processing units] are really complicated beasts this time around."

The Microsoft exec went on to elaborate, noting that "the hardware is basically baked, and what comes next is people discovering better software techniques to take advantage of it, especially in the ordering of the data so it flows through all the caches correctly, and I think there's a lot of opportunity there."

Do you think the disparity between multiplatform games on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will shrink as developers become more acquainted with the hardware?
