Xbox Cloud Gaming Down Again Mere Hours After Similar Problems Occurred

Microsoft is once again having issues with its Xbox Cloud Gaming service as it has gone down today, July 28, 2022. These problems are occurring mere hours after similar issues prevented players from launching cloud games. The most recent issues seem to be confined to the Americas and Microsoft is currently working on getting the service back up in those regions, but there is no estimate for when it will be fixed.

Launching Xbox cloud games is not working for many players across the Americas at the moment. Those who do manage to launch games may be unexpectedly disconnected from a game after it begins. Players have been told to keep an eye on the Xbox Status page or the Xbox support Twitter account for any updates. Xbox Cloud Gaming went down earlier today, although those issues were fixed after a period of four hours. There’s no indication as to how long it will take Microsoft to get on top of the most recent issues, although the team does say they have identified the problem and a fix is pending.

Microsoft recently announced that its cloud gaming service revenue increased by 28% to $25 billion over the last quarter. This is in stark contrast to the rest of Microsoft’s gaming sector which is suffering due to “a decrease in Xbox content and services and Xbox hardware.” Xbox Content and Services revenue dropped by 6% thanks to “lower engagement hours and monetization in third-party and first-party content,” although Xbox Game Pass subscriptions did offset that revenue drop with an increase too.

In other gaming news, the new Xbox Games With Gold games for August 2022 include Scourgebringer and Saints Row 2. Elsewhere, Wave 2 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC will be released next week and highlights include a brand new track and the reappearance of Waluigi Pinball.
