GameCube Controller Adapter Coming for Wii U

Just in time for the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Nintendo will be releasing an adapter for Wii U that allows you to hook up GameCube controllers for the optimal play experience.

The adapter will connect to the console via USB, allowing you to hook up a total of four wired controllers for play. There's no word on whether or not the device will support the wireless Wavebird controller. In addition, support for other titles, like Mario Kart 8, has yet to be confirmed.

Expect to hear more about this peripheral very soon, as E3 is now just mere days away.
