Merida and Maleficent Confirmed for Disney Infinity

Disney Interactive has officially announced that Merida from Brave and Maleficent from The Sleeping Beauty and the recent screening of Maleficent with Angelina Jolie will be available as characters for Disney Infinity 2.0.

Merida comes with a ranged bow and arrow (her and Hawkeye might have a strong connection) and innate horse-riding skills, while Maleficent is capable of summoning crows and creating an impassable wall of thrones to protect an area.

The developer actually revealed this bit of news two days ago during a pre-release screening of Maleficent for press and Disney's D23 fans, which Jessica Vazquez, Mike Henriquez, and I attended. I thought that the ending was fairly forced and slightly unresolved, but the transformation of the original story of The Sleeping Beauty was intriguing and the bits of mean humor by Maleficent to the baby was surprisingly funny.
