LiberNovo Omni Review

LiberNovo Omni Dynamic Ergonomic Chair Review

I was sceptical when I first saw the LiberNovo Omni. Its futuristic appearance combined with over-the-top marketing made me doubt it. Then, with its inclusion of battery-powered motors, I became intrigued. What on earth is this thing? Can it really be the next step for ergonomic chairs? After testing it for a month, it’s time to share my thoughts in this review.

The future is here

Once built, which is a simpler process than you might expect, the Omni looks just as cool as it does in the marketing. (I’ve learned that there’s now an awesome-looking green color, which is even more unique.) Sure, it’s futuristic to an extent, but I think it looks like it’s there to serve a purpose. It comes across as premium and serious, rather than weak and gimmicky.

New backrest tech

LiberNovo Omni Review

A highlight of the Omni’s feature set is the Bionic FlexFit Backrest. This is made up of eight panels that can maneuver around the user’s spine. Where other chairs will force the user to sit in a certain way by providing a hard limit, the Omni allows for some give and flexibility, while still offering significant support.

It’s not just the backrest that adapts dynamically, as the headrest, seat cushion, and armrests all move. If the user reclines, all pieces move to provide an ergonomically sound, yet comfortable, sitting position. The recline goes all the way to 160 degrees, too, which is way more than I’d ever use. If you’re sitting in this chair to fully relax and potentially nap, then I’m sure you could do it!

Get stretching

LiberNovo Omni Review

The OmniStretch feature is interesting, and is intended to give the user a stretch. It’s not exactly a massage or anything overly aggressive, but more of a way of releasing compression. I think it’s cool to see implemented, and I could see users getting into a nice routine of using it each day, but I wouldn’t call it game-changing.

The LiberNovo Omni shines brightest by being a solidly built, comfortable, ergonomic office chair. Over long use, it remains comfortable and, when moving to recline, it makes the experience effortless and consistent. You don’t have to think — you lean back and the various moving components do their magic.

Can it last?

LiberNovo Omni Review

The biggest red flag about the LiberNovo Omni is longevity when it comes to the motors and batteries. As a more premium chair, the expectation is that it will last for years and years, even beyond a decade, but it’s not yet possible to know if it will stand the test of time.

Also, as a taller user at 6’7”, I do think I’m a bit bigger than this chair’s target audience. Therefore, it’s not quite a perfect fit. Thankfully, I was able to ask my 5’10” wife to step in and assist with the analysis, and it suits her much better. It’s worth noting that there are two “Seat Depth” options available: 45 cm and 48 cm.

Final Verdict

At $1,099 — though currently available for $929 — the LiberNovo Omni’s price pits it against some industry titans that have proven themselves capable. However, for those looking for bleeding-edge tech that aims to push the envelope when it comes to comfort and ergonomics, the Omni is certainly worth experiencing.
