DJI Announces Osmo Pocket 4 but It’s Not for the US

DJI recently announced the successor to the Osmo Pocket 3, the Osmo Pocket 4. It boasts upgraded features and capabilities meant to enhance users’ experiences taking photos and videos. These include stronger battery life, fast charging, and an attachable fill light, among other key characteristics. While it is hitting markets globally, it will not make its way to the United States due to legal regulations imposed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

DJI brings Osmo Pocket 4, but it’s not available in US

DJI is launching the Osmo Pocket 4 in many territories, but not in the United States. This is because of pending FCC authorization, according to the Chinese technology manufacturer’s spokesperson, Daisy Kong, as per The Verge. The company and the U.S. government are currently at odds, and unless everything is sorted out, new products from the former won’t be available to consumers in the U.S.

In December 2025, DJI was reportedly added to the “Covered List” by the FCC, effectively banning the entry of their new drones and products into the country moving forward, as per PetaPixel. However, they and other affected companies were already at risk of their products getting barred due to the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Furthermore, under that law, DJI was supposed to receive a security audit. While the company pushed for this to take place several times, it did not happen.

Following this, DJI issued a lengthy statement, in which they expressed their disappointment at being included in the list. However, they affirmed their commitment to the U.S. market. Two months later, they sued the FCC, challenging the decision to block the import of its products.
