Marvel’s Venom Game Rumors Swirl Amid Miles Morales Star’s Remarks

Miles Morales voice actor Nadji Jeter revealed that although Marvel’s Venom game was in the works at Insomniac Games, it was eventually cancelled due to the passing of Tony Todd, who voiced the symbiote. However, fans can rejoice as reputed video game journalist and author Jason Schreier has reportedly debunked Jeter’s claims.

Miles Morales star states Marvel’s Venom game canceled, but insider suggests otherwise

Nadji Jeter previously claimed that Marvel’s Venom game was cancelled, but as per Jason Schreier, it might not be true. Jeter, who played Miles Morales, explained on the Love It Film podcast that they had begun work on a standalone Venom game. However, the project was scrapped after Tony Todd’s death in 2024.

Jeter said, “We were going to have a Venom game. We were going to drop a Venom game and a Venom DLC, but we lost Tony Todd. They showed me how it was gonna start– they showed me how everything was going to be.”

However, Schreier disagreed with Jeter. He simply wrote on a ResetEra thread, “This isn’t true”, without elaborating on his statement any further. Unfortunately, Schreier’s statement is more ambiguous than it is definitive. As per fan comments on Reddit, this could mean that there was never any Venom game in development. It could also mean that it wasn’t cancelled; Insomniac might still be working on it.

A third possibility indicates that the game was cancelled, but it had nothing to do with Tony Todd’s death. One fan commented, “That probably means Miles’ actor had outdated info, which makes sense since an MP1st article from late 2025 said the game was still in development at the time.”

A second fan wrote, “My guess Miles actor completed job work on it long ago, but as it hasn’t been announced yet, he just assumed it was canceled.” A third fan penned, “I’m happy this was debunked as soon as possible. I’m genuinely looking forward to a whole game consisting of nothing but the Venom portion of Ultimate Spider-Man.”
