LEGO unveils its 8,278-piece Minas Tirith set
The Lego Group partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to launch the largest 8,278-piece Lego LOTR Minas Tirith set as part of the franchise’s 25th anniversary celebration.
The build recreates Gondor’s famous White City from The Lord of the Rings. It features towering walls, layered architecture, and the iconic citadel seen in the beloved fantasy films.
According to Lego, the display model combines microscale city elements with detailed interior scenes at minifigure scale. Fans can admire the city skyline from a distance or zoom in on rooms like the throne chamber inside the citadel.
The set also includes 10 minifigures and themed accessories inspired by the films. Lego added Shadowfax, Gandalf’s legendary horse, to complete the collectible build.
Lego described the largest LOTR Minas Tirith set as “one of Middle-earth’s most memorable locations” in its official release announcement. The company also said the set aims to bring the fantasy world to life through intricate details and interactive scenes.
The new release will first become available through Lego Insiders Early Access on June 1. General sales begin on June 4 online and at Lego stores worldwide.
The giant collector’s set carries a retail price of $649.99. Fans who purchase the set between June 1 and June 7 will also receive the Lego Icons The Lord of the Rings Grond as a gift with purchase.
Lego also announced a special sweepstakes for Lego Insiders. One lucky winner will receive an all-inclusive trip to the Hobbiton Movie Set in New Zealand, along with the full Lord of the Rings Lego collection.
Registration for the contest remains open until June 30. Select Lego stores across the United States will also host exclusive launch events for Lego Insiders on June 1.
