Simply type in the following case insensitive codes anytime during gameplay. Type the code in again to toggle its effect ON/OFF:

noframe	Turn the border the display off.
starfield	Space background
xmas	Winter background

Original Mode:

Play the original Bejeweled's Classic Mode with no Power Gems or Hyper Cubes. At the Main Menu, just move the mouse clockwise hovering over the Classic, Action, Endless, and Puzzle modes selection buttons in that order. Keep on rotating the mouse this way until Original Mode appears.
