FFXIV: Stormblood – How to Gear Up to ilvl 300 Fast

So you just hit level 70 in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, and you’re looking to gear up quickly. One of the first things you’re going to want to do is hit an average item level of 300 so you can do Lakshmi and Susano Extreme.

Here’s what you want to do to increase your ilvl as fast as possible.

1. Finish Your Job Storyline

Although this might seem obvious, a lot of players forget to do this immediately upon hitting level 70. Every job is not only awarded a new skill for completing the final job quest, but a full set of AF3 armor.

The AF3 sets are item level 290, beautiful looking, and iconic. Don’t waste any time before getting this done!

2. Grab Crafting Gear

Item level 285 gear and a few 290 items are currently craftable. The best way to obtain these is to have a friend, FC-mate, or yourself make them, although a high level crafter is required. However, if those options aren’t available, then you’ll need to either find a crafter that you can bring materials to, or pay a hefty price on the auction house.

Don’t expect to get a lot of item level from this, but it’s the least time-consuming way to do so. Even just one item will help you get off to a good start.

3. Gather Allagan Tomestones of Verity

This latest type of tomestone is earned by completing a variety of content. The best ways to earn these are as follows:

• Daily Roulettes – You want to prioritize the 50/60, Leveling, Trial, and Expert Roulettes, all of which reward you with between 60 and 110 tomestones.
• Dungeons – You will want to focus on Ala Mhigo, Kugane Castle, and The Temple of the Fist, each of which will reward you with 80 tomestones.

Allagan Tomestones of Verity can be spent in Rhalgr’s Reach at an NPC named Enna to obtain item level 310 gear. This is your bread and butter for gearing up.

4. Run Dungeons

Ala Mhigo, Kugane Castle, and The Temple of the Fist all drop item level 300 gear. These are a quick way to get a nice item level boost with only reasonable difficulty.

Once you complete all three of these dungeons you will unlock Expert Roulette for level 70, which will become the top priority at the beginning of each day.
