+-------------------------------------+ +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 5) New Features (5NFT) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ (From Instruction Manual) New Offensive Controls and Features QB Vision Control: Every quarterback in the NFL has a unique field of vision. Some all-Pro quarterbacks can see all the action unfold from sideline to sideline, while others may as well be looking out of their ear holes. The new QB Vision Control brings this aspect of the game to life. After the snap, your quarterback's field of vision shows where he's looking. To lock on to a receiver, press the R2 button + the button of your targeted receiver and your vision automatically goes to him. You can also press the right analog stick left/right to move the vision and find open receivers. Be careful, if you try to throw a pass to a player outside your field of vision, the pass won't be as effective. EA Sports Tip: Before trying to use the QB Vision in a game, check out the Vision and Precision tutorial located in the Madden Tutorials, then take some practice snaps in Practice mode until you feel comfortable. EA Sports Tip: Avoid looking at receivers until the last second to deceive who might be keying on your eyes. Precision Passing: Whether leading a receiver to an open area, throwing away from a defender, or pulling the string on a deep ball, throw every pass exactly where you want it, how you want it. Direct passes as your QB releases the ball by pressing the left analog stick or D-button in the direction you want to guide the ball. Truck Stick: It's time for the offense to get even. Deliver big hits to break tackles, pancake defenders, and clear your path to the end zone by pressing the right analog stick Up at the point of impact. Keep in mind your risk of fumbling increases. Smart Routes: Picking up nine yards on a third-and-ten play won't do you much good. Now, you can tell a receiver to run past the first-down marker before breaking off his route by selecting him as you would in a hot route (Triangle button then the button corresponding to him), then pressing the right analog stick down. Formation Specific Audibles: Each offensive formation has four new audibles that can be called at the line of scrimmage to quickly change plays without tipping off the defense. Press the square button then press the right analog stick up for a quick pass, down for a run, left for a playaction pass, or right for a deep pass. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 6) NFL Superstar Mode (6SSM) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Steps to creating your NFL Superstar: 1 - Select ''New'' Superstar 2 - Select your Superstar's DNA* 3 - Registration Form 4 - Build** * Your parents will contribute to which position you are best suited for, look at the top box and see what the ''Best Position Choice:'' says, Keep changing your DNA by pressing the Circle Button to ''Try Again''. Also your parents decide your skin color and general features, the picture in the top left corner will change as you change your DNA, keep pressing ''Try Again'' until you get your desired features and position. ** Make sure you are content with your NFL Superstars build you can not change it once you have accepted it. After you have created your NFL Superstar you will be in a small apartment, for now the only items you have access to are ''My Schedule'', and ''Cellphone''. ''My Schedule'' is where all of the planning will be done, movie shoots, game plans, interviews, practices, games, etc. When you are looking to advance the story check out ''My Schedule''. ''Cellphone" keeps your messages under control, when the New Mail Icon is flashing green that means you have a message it is always wise to check out messages. The other items in your room are locked until after the NFL Draft. Go to ''My schedule'' and then to the Mentor Meeting, it should be the first event on your schedule. This event is a basic meeting between you and your mentor, Terrell Davis. Speak with him and ask any questions you are unsure about. When you are finished tell him you are ready to go. Next up is an interview, after the interview you need to sign an Agent. This is a fairly simple process that all you need to do is look through the Agents that are interested in you (the names in white are interested in you) after selecting an agent save your Superstar. Now this is a way to be asured you get a good score on the IQ Test which is the next event in your schedule. After making sure your game is saved, go to the IQ test, answer all 20 questions and if you get a low percentage on your IQ test, turn off your system, turn it back on and retry the IQ Test, do this until you get your desired score. After getting your desired score save your game again, it is almost time for the NFL Draft. After making sure your game is saved go to the NFL Draft, now there is also a way to ensure you get the team you wish to play for, let the draft run, and you will be told what team has drafted you, if that is not the team you wish to play for turn off your system, turn it back on and do the draft again, continue this process until your desired team has drafted you (note: this may take a while). Now that the draft is over you have access to the rest of the items in your room. The Map allows you travel to the barber shop, tattoo parlor, stadium, performance institute, agents office, and to the practice field. The Rookie handbook addresses questions that you may have. In the mirror you can change your Superstars uniform and accessories. Also, there is My Web, here, you can access information througout the season. Once you have looked at the new features go to My Schedule, after the draft you should have some interviews, do the interviews as they come up and any other events of interest. Also there are practices, your Superstars stats will change depending on how you practice, so do your best at practice or your Superstar will suffer. Information about your practices can be found on My Web. After the Pre-season is over, get ready to play your best through the Regular Season. As you progress through your Superstar career you will gain more exposure and be able to move into a larger apartment, and have merchandise, do the best you can to win, and have a good market appeal. Be sure to go to your Agents office often to promote games, and boost your appearance. Do the best that you can to win the Super Bowl your first year. As a rookie this will give you excellent exposure. You will get offers for movies, and you will get spokesperson offers from different companies which will boost your Exposure, Marketability, and Popularity, if you play well enough you can even make the cover of a Madden game! As you progress through your career, be sure to keep an eye out for a better Agent. Some have access to the Sports Institute. As you progress through your career you will move on to bigger and better places, keep using this same general strategy and you will become the next NFL Superstar. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | 7) Thanks (7TNK) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ NBox Gamer Sony PlayStation 2 John Madden EA Sports NFL Players Inc.
