Assassin's Creed Odyssey How to Save

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – How to Save, Multiple Save Slots

Learning how to save in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is essential if you want to master the Greek world. It’s hard to lose a ton of progress in this game, but triggering a save at the right time can save you a lot of frustration. Below we’ve gathered all you need to know about auto-save in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and how to perform a manual save and quick save.

How to Save in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Like previous entries in the series, Odyssey has a comprehensive auto-save function. After pretty much everything important your game will automatically be saved. Events that trigger auto-save are:

  • Accepting a quest.
  • Completing a quest.
  • Fast travel.
  • Reaching an enemy-controlled area.
  • Defeating the enemies in an enemy-controlled area.
  • Completing location objectives.
  • Defeating a bounty hunter.
  • And many others.

So, as you can see, you’re gonna have a hard time losing any progress in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

However, there may be times that you want to trigger a quick save. To do this, you just have to go into your menu and press up on the D-pad. There are some limitations to this, though. You can’t perform a manual save in enemy-controlled areas or during any combat. You can also perform a manual save by going to the options menu and choosing “Save.”

Can I Have Multiple Save Slots in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey?

If you want to save at multiple points in a single playthrough, you’re in luck in Odyssey. The game will keep your last five auto-saves, your last five quick saves, and you can manually save via the options menu to keep a file permanently.

However, there are multiple slots for characters in this game. This is a relief since there are two main characters you can pick from, and there are slight differences between their playthroughs.

That’s all there is to saving in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Make sure to check out our game hub for more great guides.
