Lethal Company Challenge moons

Lethal Company: How do Challenge Moons Work?

Challenge Moons in Lethal Company are weekly generated challenges that offer a high-stakes test of your scavenging skills and survival instincts. Each week, a new moon with a unique layout, scrap distribution, and enemy types becomes available for all players. Players have one in-game day to explore the bunker, gather as much scrap as possible, and escape to orbit. Any death reduces their profit. The final score is based on gathered scrap and deaths and gets uploaded to a global leaderboard, letting you compare your performance with others.

How do Challenge Moons work in Lethal Company?

Challenge Moons in Lethal Company are a special game mode that offers weekly challenges to players. They provide a unique and more difficult experience compared to standard gameplay. Here’s a breakdown of how Challenge Moons work:

Procedural Generation

Each Challenge Moon is procedurally generated. The map’s layout, scrap placement, starting credits, and other attributes are randomly determined based on a seed. This seed is shared among all players for the week.

Weekly Reset

Challenge Moons reset once a week, specifically on Mondays. The generated moon remains the same throughout the week for all players. This allows fair competition.

Goal and Scoring

The primary objective is to collect as much loot (scrap) as possible within a single in-game day. The score is based on the value of the collected scrap. If a player dies during the Challenge Moon, their score becomes zero. So you have to be very careful while playing and survive to the best of your abilities.

Leaderboards

After completing a Challenge Moon, players can compare their scores with friends and global players through leaderboards. This adds a competitive element to the mode.

Separate Game Mode

Challenge Moons are played as a separate game mode. Players cannot transition from a Challenge Moon to another standard moon during the challenge.

Difficulty Increase

Challenge Moons are designed to be more challenging than standard gameplay. Expect tougher enemies and more challenging conditions.

Map Attributes

Players receive randomized starting credits and increased scrap at the beginning of a Challenge Moon. Other hidden attributes about the bunker (map) are tweaked too to provide a unique challenge.

Rotation

A new Challenge Moon is introduced every week and becomes available on Mondays. Players can see it listed beneath their save files on the main menu. Challenge Moons in Lethal Company offer a challenging experience. It encourages players to test their skills, strategy, and adaptability within a limited timeframe.

Players are advised to turn off all mods for a consistent experience for everyone playing with the same seed. To prepare check the monitor before landing, buy supplies in the terminal, and learn monster and loot spawn locations.
