Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – Where to Find Spartan Strategoi

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is out now and it’s really good fun, but a number of the quests and challenges in the game can be a little vague. We’ve dealt with finding Elpenor in the “Snake in the Grass” story mission, but there are a number of smaller objectives that you’re given no guidance for. In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Spartan Strategoi soldiers are required for one of these challenges, but where do you find them? We’re here to help.

Where to Find Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Spartan Strategoi

The first thing is, you probably aren’t even aware that every character in the game has a unit type. If you tag enemies with Ikaros you can also see what class of soldier they are. Spartan Strategoi are some of the most powerful regular soldiers in the game, as they are heavily armored and hold a massive shield and large pole axe. Their most distinctive feature is their helmets, which feature a double mohawk.

As per their name, to find them you need to search in regions controlled by Sparta. Forts are the best, followed by army camps. Scan with Ikaros and track them down. However, if you want things a bit easier, trigger region battles with Athens attacking Sparta, and fight on the side of Athens. There should for certain be multiple Spartan Strategoi on the battlefield.

Why Do You Need to Find Spartan Strategoi?

There are two challenges in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that require you to kill 10 Spartan Strategoi, so you may as well combine them into a single go. The first can be accomplished at any time, and that gets you an Engraving for weapons which boosts damage to Spartan soldiers. The other is an Orichalcum challenge, which you should pick up from Sargon before going after Spartan Strategoi. You wouldn’t want to have to go hunting for them all again, now would you?
