No Black Ops 4 Supply Drops – Are Supply Drops Missing?

As of right now, there are no Black Ops 4 Supply Drops with launch day edging ever nearer. The multiplayer feature, which has been included since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is conspicuously absent in Black Ops 4. What’s the deal with that? Thankfully, things might (literally) fall into place real soon. Here’s the 411 on why Black Ops 4 Supply Drops are missing.

No Black Ops 4 Supply Drops – Are Supply Drops Missing?

There are no Black Ops 4 supply drops in the game, as hard as it may be to believe. The system, which sees players being given rewards such as weapons, camo, outfits, and more, has been a regular feature for some years now, and, in Black Ops 3, required the players to “pay” for them using in-game Cryptokeys and CoD points. For example, that game let you buy Supply Drops for 200 CoD points, which would set you back $1.99.

Of course, with the recent pushback towards microtransactions in games, including the likes of EA disclosing loot box odds, it wouldn’t be a great surprise to see the Black Ops 4 loot box system retired completely. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case at all, as one major Call of Duty fan-site has discovered.

Will Black Ops 4 Supply Drops Return?

Charlie INTEL has given hope for fans wanting a swift return for Black Ops 4 Supply Drops. Having dug deep into the early release of the game, the site has arrived at the conclusion that microtransactions merely haven’t gone live yet, and should do soon after launch on October 12. This is due to the idea that Black Ops 4, like most Call of Duty games before it, relies heavily on customization, gear, and other blinged-out features to keep the hungry masses satiated.

But, at the time of writing, there is no set date for Black Ops 4 Supply Drops to go live in any capacity. My theory? It’s likely to just be a case of Treyarch testing the waters, pre-release, without the spectre of microtransactions (i.e. to keep a level playing field) before hitting the button for them to go live on worldwide release day. But we’ll update this as soon as we hear more.
