Fallout 76 Can’t Build Schematics – How to Use Schematics

Fallout 76 schematics can be a nuisance for some players. Even after finding schematics for some very valuable equipment, players still can’t use them sometimes. This is because that there’s a particular process involved in actually learning schematics; just picking them up won’t do the trick. For those of you who can’t build schematics in Fallout 76, here’s a guide on how to use Fallout 76 schematics in order to build some great equipment.

Fallout 76 Can’t Build Schematics – How to Use Schematics

Fallout 76 schematics are essential for players if they want to brave the Appalachian wasteland. For instance, if players want to purify water, they’ll need a water purifier, as explained in our Fallout 76 purified water guide. In order to get one, they’ll first need to find a schematic. However, finding the schematic and adding it to your inventory isn’t quite enough.

To actually use Fallout 76 schematics, players will need to learn them. This means that as soon as you pick up a schematic, you’ll actively need to interact with it if you want to use it. In order to learn a schematic, all you need to do is learn it through your Pip-Boy.

To do this, open the schematic in your Pip-Boy and learn it. Afterwards, you’ll be able to craft the item the schematic was for. Unfortunately, if you don’t do this, the schematic will be effectively useless. No matter what level you are, if you want to build something that you have a schematic for, the schematic itself won’t help unless it’s actively learned.

So, if you have 25 Fallout 76 schematics and you can’t build any of them, it’s probably because you haven’t learned them. You can quickly rectify this by accessing them through your Pip-Boy. Once you’ve done that, you should be good to go—gather the components and build away!
