Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber

Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber Farming – Locations

If you’re new to Fallout 76, or not, you’ll likely be looking to harvest some Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber. This rare material is needed to repair damaged armor that you’ll want to equip as you climb the level ranks. It’s a valuable crafting material, and of course, this makes it rather rare. Read on to discover all you need to know about Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber farming, what it does, and Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber locations.

Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber – What is it?

Ballistic Fiber is a rare material that you can scavenge in Fallout 76. You can use it to repair damaged armor (particularly those stronger armors in the latter stages of the game), to craft armor, upgrade armor, use in buildings, craft weapon mods, and craft the Ballistic Weave.

The Ballistic Weave is something you can attach to your clothing and armor. It increases your resistance to damage in a big way. This is all well and good, but where can we find the stuff? It turns out, that the best way to go about finding and farming Ballistic Fiber is to find and scrap particular items.

Read on to discover exactly where you’ll find Ballistic Fiber, and from what.

Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber Farming

While you will be awarded some Ballistic Fiber for completing quests and taking over Workshop Benches on very rare occasions, the quickest way to get hold of Ballistic Fiber is to scrap a number of items.

By far the quickest and easiest way of getting hold of Ballistic Fiber in Fallout 76 is by finding and scrapping the following items:

  • Military Ammo Bags: 2 Ballistic Fiber
  • Military Grade Duct Tape: 2 Ballistic Fiber (and 4 Adhesive)
  • Piezonucleic Liner: 2 Ballistic Fiber

Of course, finding these items is easier said than done (more on that below). Knowing the locations of where these three items spawn is your best bet on farming Ballistic Fiber in Fallout 76. As of writing, you won’t find an easier or quicker way in which to get your hands on as much Ballistic Fiber as you could possibly need.

There is always the chance that Bethesda will change how you get Ballistic Fiber, however. The developer has already removed the ability to get hold of Ballistic Fiber via dismantling Power Armor, for example. Now you know what items you can salvage Ballistic Fiber from, we bet you’re wondering where you can find these items.

Fallout 76 Ballistic Fiber Location – Where to Find

You will find these items anywhere, but it is extremely rare. Luckily, there are known locations for a couple of them. Unfortunately, the Piezonucleic Liner is particularly rare to find. Thankfully, however, the Military Ammo Bags and Military Grade Duct Tape items can be found more easily.

A general piece of advice is to look in abandoned (and not so) military bases. Keep an eye out for rolls of duct tape and bags when searching through these places and you’ll be sure to find a handful in no time. Make sure to turn on item tracking, as it will come in handy for sure. Aside from this, however, there are several known locations in which you will find both the Military Ammo Bags and Duct Tape. These are as follows:

  • Camp McClintock: Southwest of the Forest Region. You’ll find plenty of Military Ammo Bags here.
  • Clancy Manor: Just to the north of Vault 76. Both Military Ammo Bags and Military Grade Duct Tape can be found here.
  • Fort Defiance: In the southwest of Cranberry Bog. You should find 10 Military Ammo Bags here, meaning you can get hold of 20 pieces of Ballistic Fiber from visiting Fort Defiance alone.
  • The Thorn: You’ll find both the Military Ammo Bags and Military Grade Duct Tape here, in the northwest of Cranberry Bog.

While these are confirmed locations where you’ll find the items you need to get hold of some Ballistic Fiber, there are plenty more military bases scattered throughout Appalachia. Cranberry Bog is a great place to head to, as there are plenty of military bases to take a look through.

The likes of Firebase Hancock, Firebase Major, Forward Station Delta, Survey Camp Alpha, and Watoga Civic Center are all in Cranberry Bog, for example. Head to any of these places and you should find the items needed to get hold of some Ballistic Fiber. If you don’t simply try reloading back into a different server until you do.
