If you need Dynamite, you’re not going to find it in town. Instead, you’ll need to go to a shop that deals in goods of questionable legality. To buy Dynamite in Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll need to go to one of four fences scattered throughout the game’s world.

You can find fences in the following locations:

  • Emerald Ranch: This fence is introduced to you during the “Pouring Forth Oil” mission in Chapter 2.
  • Rhodes: This fence is located amongst a circle of wagons north-northeast of Rhodes.
  • Saint Denis: This fence is on the east side of Saint Denis not too far from the riverboat.
  • Van Horn Trading Post: You’ll find this fence along the northern-most dock in the Van Horn Trading Post.

Each of these four fences will sell you Dynamite in Red Dead Redemption 2.

By the carriage is a chest that contains the recipe for Volatile Dynamite.
